You spoke to me “love” though my sentiments brought you a “curse,” my pleas and ploys a burden of lead. You wallowed in my submission, and in return leave but a disfigured chamber filled with a sanctimonious drone. ”Love.”

And I am left feeling drowned, suffocated by the sheer emptiness that lacerates me from the inside, ebbing its way to the surface. Until a thousand cataclysmic bursts could not equate to the impact of my self-liberation.

In the end I am free, and you are left with the product your measures of “love” accrued. Feast on the defecated scraps procured by your nonchalant hypocrisy; breath the black ash of the ruin.

Maybe the weight of gold is a “curse.” But why bother giving my hands to empty arms.

Today in history: May 7, 1907 - “Bloody Tuesday” during the San Francisco Streetcar Strike of 1907, when police and strikebreakers opened fire on striking workers. The workers were striking for an 8-hour day and $3 per day.

The strike was among the most violent of the streetcar strikes in the U.S. between 1895 and 1929, as workers repeatedly disrupted streetcar service and armed guards and strikebreakers tried to defend streetcars and attack striking workers. Before the end of the strike, thirty-one people had been killed and about 1100 injured.
